Too Little Too Late (Max)

Miley went to the kiddy pool and sat down next to him. She gently bit his ear telling him that she was alittle mad for leaving her and a little sad. Their puppies had been given to good homes and she had Shooter's puppies now. Max carried Shooter inside and went to the bathroom. He laid him down on a towl and grabbed the first ald kit for dogs.

Shooter knew in the morning Krystal would probably take him to see a vet or Max would. Buddy whinnied softly before turning off the hose and jumping into the kiddy pool to get cleaned up. He woofed at her wanting her to come in with him.

Max took care of Shooter's wounds. Miley got in with him and looked at him.

James walked into the bathroom. "Daddy, where'd the other doggie come from," he asked. He had looked outside to see another golden retriever in the kiddy pool. Shooter whimpered slightly. Buddy wagged his tail. He gently put his nose to hers telling he he never stopped loving her.

"The other doggie is Buddy." he said softly. He finished taking care of Shooter and gently rubbed the dog's head. Miley wagged her tail and gently licked him telling him that she never stopped loving him

Buddy whimpered as the water touching hidden wounds he has. He hadn't let anyone touch them. They had healed almost but one or two were open. He moved and rubbed his body against hers thanking her for taking care of their puppies and Krystal for him. James smiled. "Buddy, looked dirty," he said. Shooter was finally wagging his tail and he accepted the doggy treat James held out to him.

Max nodded. Miley wagged her tail and she gently nosed him telling him that she had other puppies but with Shooter.

James smiled. "When's mommy coming home?" he asked. Shooter fell into a light sleep now. Buddy suddenly rolled in the kiddy pool to splash Miley.

Krystal parked her truck behind Max's. She got out and went around to get Britney from the car seat. She whistled softly for Luna and the puppies to follow her.

Luna and the puppies followed her inside. Max heard the car and smiled. "Looks like mommy is home." he said smiling. Miley got wet and she splashed him back

James got excited and stood. He went out to the living room. Krystal entered the house carrying Britney. She laid Britney in the play pen so she could sleep. Buddy suddenly playfully tackled Miley into the water and growled softly. He then liked to tiny nick he had given her when he had accidently tried to attack her.

Britney was still asleep. Luna and the puppies looked at James. Miley yelped in suprise and looked at him.

James walked up to Luna and petted her. He then hugged his mommy. Krystal looked around for Max. She knew he must be with Shooter. But, she looked out the back door seeing two dogs in the kiddy pool and she dropped her car keys on the floor. Buddy heard something and looked into the house to see Krystal staring at him.

Max got up and picked up Shooter. He carried the dog to the living room and laid him down on the big dog bed. He went to Krystal and smiled. Miley looked at Krystal and wagged her tail happily. Luna gently licked James's cheek and the puppies looked at James. Miley's puppies looked at their daddy(Shooter) and went to him

"Max, how is that possible. I thought we buried him," she said. She was staring outside at Buddy wo was drying off after jumping from the kiddy pool. James giggled and petted Luna again. Buddy walked inside and sat down and wagged his tail. He had missed Krystal the most.

Max smiled softly. "Apparently it was a diffrent dog we burried. He was the dog that attacked Shotter." he said. Miley followed him inside the house. She went to Shooter and gently licked his face.

She suddenly felt pain rush through her eyes. Buddy suddenly knew what was happening. He ran to the bedroom and grabbed his seeing eye-dog harness and got it on. He then started barking quietly. James looked at his mom. "Daddy, what's wrong with mommy?" he asked.

Max widden his eyes and put on the harness back on to Buddy. "Before Mommy had you she used to be blind but I though the doctor's fixed it." he said. Miley whimpered and looked at Shooter

Shooter was fast asleep. Buddy walked to Krystal and made her take a hold of the handle on his harness. He walked her to a chair and she sat down. Buddy was on high alert now. He was her seeing eye dog again. Probably forever now. James felt bad. "Why is she blind again then, daddy. Why does Buddy have to bee so protective of her now," he said.

Max sighed and knelt down next to him. "I don't know why, James. Buddy was her guid dog when she first became blind. Miley laid down near the dog bed and the puppies went to their mommy.Luna laid down near the playpen and her puppies laid down near Luna.

"Now, Mommy can't see what I do everyday. Does that mean no riding tomorrow," he said. Buddy sensed something and helped Krystal go up to the bedroom. She found her brail book and ran her fingers over some words. She sighed and sat on the bed. Buddy curled at her feet. He wanted to be with Miley but he had work to do. Shooter had moved back to his bed to be alone. He wanted Miley to be with Buddy.

Max nodded. "We can still ride tomorrow." he said. Miley wanted Buddy to be with her but he had to work. The puppies started to nurse. Luna's puppies started to nurse and Luna watched her puppies. She started to miss Trigger

"Okay, I'm tired daddy," he said. He was ready for bed. But, he went to Miley and gave her a hug good night. Buddy watched Krystal as she attemtped to find her night gown without his help. Shooter was still fast asleep.

Max nodded. "Do you want to sleep in the playpen with Britney?" he asked. Britney was still asleep in the playpen. Miley's puppies fell asleep and so did Luna's puppies.

"Sure, daddy," James said. He yawned and was ready to get some sleep. Krystal pulled on her night gown and climbed into bed with Buddy's help. The dog curled against on the bed and she fell asleep and he stayed right next to her not wanting to lose her again.

Max picked up James and put him in the playpen near Britney. Luna fell asleep and Miley rested her head. Miley didn't fall asleep due to the fact that she was used to either Shooter or Buddy sleeping with her
