Working their horses(James)

James untied Bat and led her outside to the track. He was ready to work the roan colored mare.

She mounted Bright and guided the filly onto the track. She started to trot the filly and the filly pulled on the reigns to go faster but she kept the filly at a trot.

James mounted Bat and walked her onto the track before picking up a trot. He knew Bat wasn't as fast as Bright.

She then urged the filly into a canter and she cantered the mare. She then urged the mare into a slow gallop.

James had Bat in a slow gallop in front of them this time. The mare was known for being a front runner unlike Sunday who was a stalker and sometimes a closer for races. But, Bat always took to be in the first three out of the gates.

The filly continue to pull on the reigns and Carolyn leaned forward in the saddle. She urged the mare into a racing gallop. She galloped past James and Bat. Both horse and rider were flying down the track.

James tapped Bat. Bat suddenly got mad and bolted. The mare hated being passed unless it was by a stallion for some reason. The mare had taken full control and James was losing grip.

She pulled the filly next to the mare and reached over to grab the reigns. Even though Bright was known to be a spirited filly, she still was a great horse to ride and she stayed at a good pace so her owner could help her fiancé.

James was trying to help. Bat moved out of reach and bolted again. James was barely able to hang on to the saddle with his legs and the reins with his hands. Bat was mad and didn't want to be stopped.

She widened her eyes and she knew one thing that she had to to. She galloped the mar after Bat. She let Bright increase her speed and she was again next to Bat. She reached forward and grabbed Bat's reigns.

Bat suddenly bucked as she ran and was aiming for the filly under Carolyn. James was struggling and held on while the mare bucked.

Bright snorted and moved away from Bat. She held onto the Bright and tried to reach out to James. "James." she said worridly

"Carolyn, get Bright away. I don't want Bat anymore angry at her," he said. He was holding onto the saddle. Bat went into a racing bolt and then straight into the pace Speedy Sunday had used. She was right by the thick outside rail and James slide towards it without stirrups.

She nodded and kept Bright away from Bat and watched in horror. She slowed the mare down to a slow gallop.

James's back slammed off the side rail and Bat was now pulling him along behind her as his hand grabbed the reins. He was almost being trampled.

She didn't know what to do and she galloped Bright behind Bat and James.

James finally let go just near the finish before he would hit the post. He lay on the ground in pain. He was a vampire but would take a little bit to heal. He would need help to the truck to lay in the truck bed on the back padding he laid in it for emergencies.

She stopped Bright near James and went to him. She knelt down and the tears silently went down her cheeks.

"Carolyn, I'm a vampire remember. Just get me to the back padding in our truck bed. I'll need to be resting for my back to heal," he said. Bat had halted a little bit away coated in sweat.

She nodded. "But who is going to take care of the horses?" she asked
(where are Damien and Stefan when you need them)

Damien and Stefan ran up. "Carolyn take care of the horses. We'll get James on that padding for you," they said. They lifted James. Bat walked over ready to be punished for being bad. James had normally tied her to a post for a night for being bad.

She nodded and went to Bright. She led the mare to where Bat was. She led both horses to the main barn and clipped them to the crossties. She untacked both horses and put Bright in her stall. She led Bat to a post and tied her up for the night. She sat down on a hay bale and sighed

Stefan walked to her. "James is safe. He's on the padding. He needs you with him. He's in pain and it gets worse before he heals completely," he said. Damien had gotten a bucket of water for Bat. He and Stefan would hose the mare down to cool her off. James groaned laying on the truck bed.

She nodded and got up. "I'm guessing that you already knew what happened to me the day Elijah try to take me." she said softly. Star put his head over the stall door and pricked his ears up.

"Yes, we know," Stefan said. He and Damien worked on getting Bat cooled down. Then blanketed her before going to check on James's new horse. They gave him some hay.

James groaned and was trying to sit up. He needed Carolyn to keep him laying on his back long enough to heal.
